Gray Matters Awarded Contract with Air Force

Contract will explore the integration of blockchain and AI for smart, secure supply chain management.

ANNAPOLIS, MD, May 22, 2024 – Gray Matters, Inc. (GMI) announces it has been selected by AFWERX for a SBIR focused on leveraging its Maverix technology to address the most pressing challenges related to logistics in the Department of the Air Force (DAF).

The Air Force Research Laboratory and AFWERX have partnered to streamline the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) process by accelerating the small business experience through faster proposal to award timelines, changing the pool of potential applicants by expanding opportunities to small business and eliminating bureaucratic overhead by continually implementing process improvement changes in contract execution. The DAF began offering the Open Topic SBIR/STTR program in 2018 which expanded the range of innovations the DAF funded and now on May 16, Gray Matters will start its journey to create and provide innovative capabilities that will strengthen the national defense of the United States of America.

“We are thrilled to have been put on contract by the Air Force to identify ways in which our Maverix platform can create value for their complex logistic operations,” said Jamie Benoit, CEO of Gray Matters. “The Air Force has a vital need to bolster its supply chain and logistics capabilities to operate effectively in contested and highly cyber-dense environments. Our Maverix® platform fuses blockchain,  AI/ML, and post-quantum computing resistant technology to allow users to securely share information, have complete traceability, and make mission-critical decisions in real-time based on trusted data,” he added.
